The leader of the right-wing Democrats for Strong Bulgaria (DSB) and former PM, Ivan Kostov, believes the biggest challenge for the Bulgarian government is to be able to maintain the updated budget.
Kostov, who visited Saturday the Black Sea city of Varna, said this is the task of the cabinet of the ruling center-right Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria (GERB) party and of its finance minister.
The DSB leader pointed out the urgent need to apply a bold and radical administrative reform, reminding of the proposal of the right-wing Blue Coalition showing how to reduce the State administration.
(In addition to DSB, the Blue Coalition includes the Union of Democratic Forces (UDF),
Kostov was also firm that about EUR 700 to 800 B in EU funds would not be absorbed and the plan for foreign investments would not reach its goals. The main problem with the Bulgarian bank system is the stark reduction in loan granting, leading to insufficient money flowing in the economy, he said.
The former Prime Minister pointed out there isn’t in reality a true anti-crisis policy, which, if in place, could lead the country out of the crisis in one year. He reminded again about the Blue Coalition’s anti-crisis package handed out to GERB and voiced hopes all Ministries will soon have serious programs and action plans.
Kostov informed the Blue Coalition will support at first reading the proposal to establish special tribunals in Bulgaria, but during the second one will demand to not turn them into courts for a particular category of individuals, but rather to courts for particular crimes.
