Bulgarian Govt Puts Forth New Manager of Trans-Balkan Pipeline

Bulgaria's Finance Ministry wants to appoint a new manager in charge of the Bulgarian branch of the Trans-Balkan Pipeline company set up for the construction of the Burgas-Alexandroupolis oil pipeline.

The Bulgarian Finance Ministry has suggested that Denitsa Beyazova become the Director of the Burgas-Alexandroupolis Pipeline Project Company BG EAD, the Bulgarian partner in the Trans-Balkan Pipeline company, a joint venture with Russia and Greece. The news about the new nomination of the Bulgarian Finance Ministry, which is in charge of managing the Burgas-Alexandroupolis project in Bulgaria, was broken Thursday night by the CEO of the Trans-Balkan Pipeline company, Vladislav Emelyanov, who led a delegation of the company for two-day talks with the Bulgarian government on Wednesday and Thursday.

He said the TBB had been discussing the future of the controversial oil pipeline project for two days with senior officials in Sofia including Finance Minister Simeon Djankov himself.

The new nominee of the Bulgarian Denitsa Beyazova is currently a member of the Supervisory Council of the Trans-Balkan Pipeline company. He appointment will have to be approved by the General Assembly of the shareholders. The Russian officials of the TBB said Beyazova was acquainted with the pipeline project.
