The Bulgarian Prosecutor’s Office charged Monday Krasimir Georgiev aka “Krasio the Black” with tax evasion, in addition to the perjury charges.

According to court documents, Krasio had failed to file tax declarations for over BGN 94 000 between January 1, 2006 and December 31, 2008.

The perjury trail against Gerogeiv is scheduled to start Tuesday. It will be held behind closed doors over the existence of “some classified information,” according to magistrates.

The indictment states that on June 24, 2009, Georgiev told the interrogating prosecutor that he did not know any magistrates while later, the above mentioned evidence, showed he had many phone calls and meetings with judges and magistrates.

8 judges and 8 prosecutors are going to be called on the witness stand.

The scandal involving Krasimir Georgiev, from northern city of Pleven, broke one year ago, when the Member of the Supreme Judicial Council (VSS), Ivan Kolev, revealed Krasio offered a number of magistrates to secure their high-ranking positions in exchange for cash. Several judges and magistrates, including Supreme ones, have been dismissed or resigned in the aftermath over proven contacts with Georgiev.

The Prosecutors, however, do not have much hope that Krasio will be sentenced for corruption since there is not a single conversation recorded to prove what Georgiev and the magistrates talked about, mainly because Kolev blew the whistle instead of notifying them.
