The Bulgarian Prime Minister has once again confirmed the country’s support for Croatia’s upcoming entry into the European Union.

Bulgaria’s PM Boyko Borisov met Saturday with his Croatian counterpart, Jadranka Kosor at a two-day summit in Dubrovnik.

The two leaders have discussed cooperation in the corruption and organized crime fields.

“Croatia and Bulgaria have Prime Ministers who have political will and whose priority is the fight against the organized crime and the corruption,” Borisov said.

Another topic of discussion has been the South Stream transit pipeline project, which Croatia has joined. Borisov has explained to Kosor the problems that Bulgaria has been facing so far and informed her about the last discussions with Russia on the subject.

“If out conditions are accepted, on July 16 both countries will sign a road map, which will define more clearly the roads, the prices for construction and the time periods,” Borisov said.

The Prime Ministers have also discussed the acceleration of the launching of the route Sofia-Zagreb, which, in their words, will contribute to the development of business, tourism and exchange between the two countries.

Kosor has also stated the possibility of her coming to Bulgaria again for the opening of a Croatian mall in Sofia.

On his part, Borisov gave Kosor a copy of the document, which the Bulgarian Tsar Ivan Asen II gave to traders from Dubrovnik in 1230.

“This document allows a free trade by people from Dubrovnik on the Bulgarian territory,” he explained.
