The Bulgarian Employment Agency and the local police have discovered an abuse of EU funds by an employee from the Labor Office in the Bulgarian town of Tutrakan.

The employee has directed to certain companies the unemployed people, applying for training through vouchers, financed by the operational program “Development of Human Resources”.

The police has investigated the employee's company computer and has found documents of a learning center and lists of employed and unemployed people, who have been directed to courses, offered by the same learning center.

The Employment Agency said this was a violation of the rules for the voucher schemes, according to which the recruitment agencies should provide a list of all the companies offering trainings and unemployed should choose where to take a course for which they have received vouchers.

According to the Employment Agency, all the documents have been given to the police and the procedure for the disciplinary suspension against the employee has been started.
