Bulgaria’s men’s volleyball team won this weekend’s second home match against the Netherlands 3:0 Sunday.

Saturday’s game resulted in a similar 3:0 defeat for the Dutch. Both games were played in the Bulgarian city of Varna.

Sunday’s game started well for the Bulgarians, who effortlessly got the first set at 25:22. During the second set the Dutch set off with more pressure, leading the result to 11:6 in their favor, but Bulgaria returned to the game and crushed the Dutch at 25:20.

The third and last set was fiercely contested, but ended up 32:30 for the Bulgarians.

With 25 points Bulgaria is second in Pool A of the World League, with Brazil having the same amount of points, but better set points ratio.

The final round will clash six teams: those ranked first in the four pools, the second best team, as well as hosts Argentina. Bulgaria thus has a very good chance of qualifying.

Nevertheless, the Bulgarians still will have to face off group leaders Brazil at home in Varna coming Thursday and Friday.
