The Netherlands crushed 2:1 the national team of Brazil in the first quarter final of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

Even though Brazil was in the lead after Robinho scored for 1:0 in the 10th minute, the Dutch managed to reverse the score – and the game – in their favor in the second half.

The equalizer came in the 53rd minute as Brazil’s Felipe Melo scored an own goal in Port Elizabeth on Friday.

Netherlands’ Wesley Sneijder headed the ball for the winning goal in the 68th minute, and the Brazilians failed to make a comeback as the second half was mostly dominated by the Dutch.

Thus, the Netherlands will be facing in the semi-final the winner from the match between Ghana and Uruguay scheduled for later on Friday.
