The Old Town of Bulgaria’s famous Black Sea resort town of Nessebar boasts a new night lights view, announced the Nessebar Municipality.

The new lights making the night walk to the small peninsula of the Old Town even more pleasant and romantic consist of 68 diode lanterns installed into the sidewalk on both sides of the main alley.

The lights are 24-volt making them safe for pedestrians.

The Nessebar Municipality has pointed out that the new night lights of the Old Town are only one of its initiatives to promote the natural and historic features of what it calls “the only town on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast combining ancient history and modern views.”

The new lights are said to be a boost not just for Nessebar’s traditional summer tourism but also for presenting better its ancient cultural heritage.

Nessebar was originally a Greek colony later turned into a Roman and Byzantine port. It was conquered for Bulgaria by Khan Krum in 813 AD.
