Spain triumphed 1:0 over their adversary Portugal in the last Group of 16 match of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

In what was perhaps the most dynamic match of the World Cup so far, the Portuguese and the Spanish both missed a number splendid goal opportunities.

Spain's David Villa scored the only goal in the match in the 63rd minute; after that the game was mostly dominated by the Spanish as the Portuguese attempts to equalize failed.

Spain will be facing a less tough adversary in the quarter final – Paraguay who beat Japan 5:3 after penalties earlier on Tuesday.

The winner will face the winner from the Netherlands-Brazil quarter-final.
