The former host of the TV show “TV Guide,” of the Bulgarian National Television, BNT, Tanya Dimitrova, was sworn Wednesday as the latest Member of the Parliament.

Dimitrova joins the parliamentary group of the ruling Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria (GERB) party from the 24th Sofia district. She replaces Stoyan Mavrodiev who was appointed as Head the country's Financial Supervision Commission (FSC) for a six-year term.

Dimitrova has a 25-year-long TV career, but has not been involved in broadcasting for the last 9 years. She worked as a GERB municipal councilwoman and before that as a member of the Council for Electronic Media (CEM).

Earlier Wednesday, in an interview for the largest private TV channel bTV, Dimitrova said she was the one, who personally went to the GERB headquarters in Sofia, before they were even registered as a party, asking to join in.

“I have a 16-year-old granddaughter; I am happily divorced while my daughter is happily married,” Dimitrova said.
