Slovenia won 1:0 its first 2010 World Cup match against the team of Algeria in Polokwane, South Africa.

A late goal in the 79th minute from Robert Koren gave Slovenia the win in what appeared to be an unexciting match. The goal resulted from a mistake of Algerian goalkeeper, Faouzi Chaouchi.

Algeria played with 10 men the last 30 minutes of Sunday's match after second-half substitute Abdelkader Ghezzal saw a red card after playing for only 15 minutes.

With the victory on the Peter Mokaba Stadium, Slovenia registered its first ever World Cup win, and came to the lead in Group C after the USA and England drew 1:1 their game on Saturday.
