Bulgaria's prime minister has ordered the dismissal of Maya Hristova, Deputy Energy and Economy Minister, the press office of the government announced.

Hristova will be replaced by Mariy Kosev, who came into office on June 3.

The new appointment aims to increase the efficiency in the energy sector and streamline the operations of the energy companies, says the statement of the press office.

Over the last few months Maya Hristova made a number of statements that differed from the official position of Minister Traicho Traikov, mostly concerning the planned listing of state-owned stakes in energy companies on the stock exchange.

Hristova also claimed that the government has decided to bring all the energy companies together in a new holding, spearheaded by the National Electricity Transmission Company (NEK).

Minister Traikov did not confirm this information either.
