Bulgaria's Minister of Transport and Communications, Aleksander Tsvetkov, dismissed Thursday Milen Keremedchiev from his post as Director of the Postal Services.

The decision for the surprising move had been made Wednesday while Keremedchiev had been informed Thursday.

The Transport Ministry confirmed officially the information, saying the discharge is the result of mutual agreement.

Keremedchiev stated that there isn't any drama or tension in his dismissal and confirmed it has been the result of mutual agreement.

“After 9 years serving in the State Administration, I decided it is time for me to look at the private business and accept a job proposal. I keep deep respect towards the Transport Minister and the Board of Directors” Keremedchiev is quoted saying.

It is still unclear who will replace him, but the name of Deyan Daneshki, Head of the Executive Agency “Electronic Communication Network and Information Systems,” has been circulating the most. The Transport Ministry press center confirms Daneshki is a candidate, but his official appointment is pending.

Keremedchiev became Director of the Bulgarian Postal Services in November 2009 and was nominated by the new cabinet of the Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria (GERB) party. He has also served as Deputy Minister of Economy, of Foreign Affairs, General Consul in Dubai and in the Pact for Stability in Southeastern Europe.

Only at the end of last week, the Bulgarian daily “Standart” published an interview with Keremedchiev telling about his success at the Postal Services and talking about his future plans there.
