US Deputy Secretary of State Set for Bulgarian Visit

The US Deputy Secretary of State, James Steinberg, is arriving in Bulgaria Wednesday evening for an one-day official visit.

On Thursday, Steinberg will hold meetings with senior Bulgarian government officials, the US State Department reports.

The meeting include Prime Minister, Boyko Borisov, Foreign Affairs Minister, Nikolay Mladenov, Defense Minister, Anyu Angelov. US Ambassador to Bulgaria, James Warlick, is scheduled to attend the talks with the PM.

Steinberg's visit comes just one week after the trip to Sofia of CIA Director, Leon Panetta and after the May 20 visit of NATO Secretary General, Anders Fogh Rasmussen.

The US Deputy Secretary of State is arriving to Bulgaria from Sarajevo, where he was part of the EU “Western Balkans” meeting, organized by the Spanish EU Presidency.
