19-year-old Lena from Germany has won the 55th Eurovision song contest in Oslo, Norway.

Lena triumphed with her pop song “Satellite” Saturday night over 24 other contestants in Eurovision final.

Lena Mayer-Landrut, who was unknown before winning the German qualified for Eurovision, has become the second German performer to ever win Eurovision.

Eurovision 2010 was conducted under new rules which were supposed to assuage the effects of politically and geographically motivated bloc voting.

Thus, professional judges now account for 50% of a performer's score, and the other half comes from the number of telephone and SMS votes each contestant receives, with fans unable to vote for their own country's entry.

Viewers from 39 European countries were allowed to determine the winner in the Eurovision final. Fourteen countries - including Bulgaria - were elimated after the two semi-finals. Germany, together with the UK, France, Spain, and last year's winner Norway did not have to compete in the semi-finals, and qualified directle for the final under the new rules.
