Bulgaria Boasts World's Sixth Fastest Upload Speed

Bulgaria has the sixth fastest upload speed in the world, standing on average at 9,11 Mb/s, according to a survey, conducted by Speedtest.net, which has been running tests of connection speeds since 2007.

The survey covers 178 countries.

South Korea leads with an average of 18.04 Mb/s, followed by Latvia, Moldavia, Japan and Sweden. The United States is listed with 2.21 Mb/s, slightly ahead of the average of 2.10 Mb/s.

The list shows a similar picture in download speeds, where Bulgaria ranks at number eight with an average speed of 17,72 Mb/s.

South Korea is in first place with an average download speed of 34.14 Mb/s, followed by Latvia with 24.29 Mb/s, the Republic of Moldova with 21.37 Mb/s, Japan with 20.29 Mb/s and Sweden with 19.78 Mb/s.

The United States trails the fastest nations by a substantial margin with 10.13 Mb/s, and is behind countries such as Bulgaria, Iceland, and the Ukraine.

Other influential nations that are even further down the list include the UK (33rd, 7.70 Mb/s) and Italy (57th, 4.39 Mb/s). The average download speed of all nations is 7.67 Mb/s.
