EC Reimburses Bulgaria with BGN 195 M for Rural Development

The European Commission has restored to Bulgaria a total of BGN 195 M that the Bulgarian government provided as funding for agricultural and rural projects.

The reimbursement to Bulgaria's National Agriculture Fund is for projects financed under the EU Rural Development Program 2007-2013, and launched over the last three months.

The sum of BGN 195 M is the second payment from the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) to Bulgaria since the beginning of 2010.

The money was granted to municipalities under European Commission measures 112 “Setting Up of Young Farmers”; 121 “Modernization of Agricultural Holdings”; 321 “Basic Services for the Economy and Rural Population,” and 322 “Village Renewal and Development”.

In February 2010, the EC reimbursed Bulgaria with BGN 388 M granted for agricultural and rural development.
