Borislav Gutsanov, chair of Varna municipal council and top member of the Bulgarian Socialist Party, who was arrested in a high-profile police raid, has been released from the prison hospital and allowed to get in-house treatment.

The ruling was delivered on Tuesday by Varna Appelate Court.

Gutsanov was listed last month in the city's “St. Anna” hospital with what is said to be a serious case of pneumonia and later moved to the prison hospital in the capital Sofia. According to Gutsanov's attorney his client's health declined in the last few days and has requested a medical exam.
