The Sofia City Prosecutor’s Office has submitted more charges against the ex CEO of the scandalous municipal real estate company Sofiyski Imoti (Sofia Properties), Toshko Dobrev.

Dobrev has been accussed of a number of abuses of office since the case against him and another 13 former officials from the municipal company began in 2003.

The latest charges relate to Dobrev not taking sufficient care while managing the assets entrusted to him during his time at Sofiyski Imoti.

The Prosecutor’s Office had previously accused the fourteen former officials of causing losses to the firm amounting to BGN 2 007 946.

In the years 2003-2004, the municipal company allegedly let out buildings, apartments and office spaces in the center of the city for prices considerably lower than their market value.

The case has still not reached the trial stage after 7 years, with the Sofia City Court postponing proceedings a number of times in 2009.
