Two shops owned by the mayor of the Black sea town resort of Sozopol, Panayot Reizi, have been set on fire Tuesday night, reports BTA.

The arson is said to have occurred at 2.30 am. Two other neighboring buildings – one of which a house of the National Institute for Cultural Monuments – also caught fire.

There no reports of casualties and causes for the incident are being investigated.

On Tuesday, the house of the Deputy Head of the Bulgarian National Revenue Agency, Toshko Todorov, was also set on fire.

It is believed the fire, which destroyed the house in the northeastern city of Dobrich, had been a way to intimidate Todorov. There are no reported injuries.
