Bulgaria’s ex Foreign Affairs Minister and current rightist Blue Coalition MEP, Nadezhda Neynski, has stated that the economic crisis “opens new possibilities” for Europe in an upbeat interview.

Despite the current economic turmoil in Greece, Neynski was optimistic about Europe and Bulgaria’s place in it in an interview for BGNES: “"I think Europe will emerge from the crisis much stronger and more unified because of the periods of crisis, mobilizing people and causing them to seek opportunities."

She continued that “the crisis is a challenge, but it opens many new possibilities and Europe is ready to meet them”.

Neynski also commented on Turkey's eventual possible membership of the European Union. This theme relates to the role of Europe as a global player - dialogue with Turkey did not start yesterday it has caused much debate and many open issues and political, economic, and cultural, including relating to tolerance and partnership.”

Nadezhda Neynski (Mihaylova) was Bulgaria's Foreign Minister in the UDF government of Ivan Kostov in 1997-2001.
