The new winner of the Miss Bulgaria title, Romina Andonova, claims her victory is not a “settled affair”.

In an interview for Darik radio on Monday, the 21-year-old Sofia-born beauty said that it was fate that “settled for her parents to meet” and she was born out of that encounter.

The newly proclaimed Miss Bulgaria 2010 admitted on Monday “that she's hardly had a wink of sleep” after the contest because her schedule was really tight and she was too worried about “putting up a good appearance”.

“This media fuss is a bit exhausting but still pleasant,” said Romina Andonova for Darik radio and added she does not heed the ill-minded commentaries that there are far more beautiful and intelligent girls than her in Bulgaria.

“Everyone can audition for the Miss Bulgaria beauty pageant, yet the jury selects the very best. This title stands for many things and beauty is but one of them. All finalists are both intelligent and physically attractive,” concluded the 21-year-old title holder.

Romina Andonova was dubbed Miss Bulgaria last Friday, beating the other 17 finalists. She was awarded a number of other prizes, including the “best body” award.

The beauty is currently studying biology at the Sofia University. She says she loves animals and modern ballet, with which she has been professionally involved for four years already.

As a little child Romina was part of the singing group “Bon Bon” and has shared the stage with a number of Bulgarian pop stars, including Geogi Hristov, Neli Rangelova, Orlin Goranov.
