Some 3 200 young kids have been left out of kindergartens in the Bulgarian capital Sofia because of inadequate capacity.
The Sofia Municipality issued Friday the rankings for admission to nursery schools announcing the approval some 6 000 children for inclusion in the municipality-run kindergarten programs. Only 160 spots have been left unoccupied to be distributed in May.
The long-term program of the Sofia Municipality envisages the building of new kindergartens in order to increase the number of available spots by 2 200. However, no relief of the situation can be expected in the months to come.
