Prof. Anna-Maria Borisova has been nominated as Bulgaria's new Health Minister because she is an honest person that has never been involved in corruption schemes, Prime Minister, Boyko Borisov says.

Borisov spoke Tuesday in a TV interview, explaining that he now has to start from bottom to top when nominating people because in all parties and the entire State there are very few “clean” individuals remaining.

“Ms. Borisova I met at a road junction, near the city of Veliko Tarnovo. Spoke to her for about half an hour, got some of what her ideas are about the health reform i.e. same as mine as far as staff reductions and decisiveness,” Borisov pointed out, adding he was not at all nervous about her media appearances, qualified by many as “weird.”

“She does not have much to say before she is officially a minister,” the PM declared.

Borisov explained the delay in the health care reform with lack of funds and the hesitation of now ex Health Minister, Bozhidar Nanev, who tried to please to many people.

“When someone fails in their duties, then the security services come to me and we begin achieving,” the PM said.
