Bulgaria February Industrial Index down 9% Y/Y

In February 2010 Bulgaria's industrial production is down 9% year on year, data published by the National Statistics Institute (NSI) shows.

In the manufacturing industry the production is down nearly 14%, production and distribution of electric power is down 0.6%, mining industry is down 2%.

The production of energy products registers a 12% decrease, the one of products for intermediate consumption - 9%, but investment products are up 2.5%.

Compared to January 2010, in February industrial production is down 3%, with a 4% decrease in the production and distribution of electric power, 3% decrease in the manufacturing industry and an increase of 4% in the mining industry.

NSI registers a decrease in the production of tobacco products, chemicals, rubber and plastic products, while the production of textiles, not including clothing, of metals, paper, and cardboard is up.

According to Bloomberg, this is the 17th month in a row, industrial production in Bulgaria registers a decrease.
