The egional veterinary office in Bulgaria’s Danube city of Silistra has banned all bird exhibits and open markets over the threat of avian flu.
On Thursday, a dead river gull has been found in a yard in Silistra and sent to the Lab at the National Veterinary Institute in Sofia. Results are expected in two other cases of dead birds – a pheasant and a pigeon found in Silistra and the nearby town of Tutrakan.
