Bulgarian Interior Minister, Tsvetan Tsvetanov, has revealed that the ‘jellyfish’ special police operation is continuing in Bulgaria’s Black Sea capital Varna.

Tsvetanov said Wednesday that all of the invoices, documents and computer programs related to the purchase of second-hand buses in the Varna region are being checked.

He added that the amount budgeted in the Municipal Council for the purchase of these buses far exceeded the actual amount paid to companies in France and Germany.

Tsvetanov continued that the corrupt scheme has lasted up to 20 years and he also said there is a well-known link between the Chair of Varna municipal council, Borislav Gutsanov, and businessman Daniel Slavov aka Dido Dunkata, who were both arrested and charged early Wednesday morning.

Meanwhile, Gutsanov’s children are reported to still be in shock after armed police raided their family home on Wednesday morning at 06:30.
