Bulgaria's Chief Prosecutor, Boris Velchev, will receive Monday a file with documents about large-scale violations committed between 2004 and 2007 by three former Energy Ministers.

The news was announced by the Chair of the Parliamentary Anti-corruption Committee and leader of the right-wing Democrats for Strong Bulgaria (DSB), Ivan Kostov.

The 3 are: Milko Kovachev, Miroslav Sevlievski, and Rumen Ovcharov.

The documents, collected and analyzed by the Infrastructure sub-Committee, are based on 6 reports of the Main Inspectorate at the Council of Ministers, which include warnings about the violations committed by the 3 ex Ministers.

Kostov declined commenting on concrete charges with the motive this could interfere with the Prosecutor's probe, but added the State suffered serious damages over the mismanagement of the entire system for production, purchase, sale and export of electric power.

The DSB leader further informed he had discussed the evidence with current Energy Minister, Traicho Traikov, Interior Minister, Tsvetan Tsvetanov, and the Director of the National Agency for State Security (DANS), Tsvetlin Yovchev, and all 3 have approved sending the file to the Prosecutor.

Meanwhile, the Sofia City Prosecutor, Nikolay Kokinov, announced his office had begun a probe of 150 contracts concluded by 13 ministries from the former Three-Way Coalition cabinet. Kokinov did not mention any names, but confirmed those probed include ministers, deputy ministers, and heads of State agencies.
