The Executive Director of Bulgaria’s National Revenue Agency (NAP), Krasimir Stefanov, has announced that the Tripartite Cooperation Council has adopted the proposed 10% tax on all gambling.

The Council of employers, unions and government representatives agreed unanimously to adopt the proposal that puts a 10% tax on all winnings from bets, Stefanov stated Saturday. He added that the tax could add BGN 150 M to the budget annually. He added that BGN 600 M could be added to the national budget from NAP before the end of the year.

Stefanov concluded that the government's anti-crisis proposal to increase V.A.T from 20% to 22% is also likely to be adopted by the Council.

Earlier Saturday rightist Blue Coalition co-leader Martin Dimitrov said that his party will not support the V.A.T increase as it will hurt businesses that instead need to receive help during the crisis.
