China Strikes Gold at Short Track Worlds in Sofia

China grabbed 2 gold medals at the world short-track speedskating championships on Saturday in Sofia.

China's Liang Wenhao and Wang Meng both claimed gold in their respective 500 metre events.

Following the domination by South Korean skaters on Friday, Saturday also turned out to be a wonderful day for the Canadians who picked up a total of 4 medals in the 500-metre event.

Francois Hamelin won the silver in the men's event, with Francois-Louis Tremblay earning the bronze. And in the women's event, Kalyna Roberge captured the silver and Marianne St-Gelais took the third step on the podium.

The worlds continue on Sunday with the 1,000-metre and 3,000-metre events.
