Bulgaria's Parliamentary Speaker, Tsetska Tsacheva, has received a delegation of police trade union officials in her office.

The union leaders have delivered a letter containing several proposals they wish to discuss. They include claims of lack of effective official dialog, an outdated technical infrastructure, and a lack of administrative reform.

The delegates informed the Speaker that the letter did not refer to issues of payment and salaries, due to the current economic situation.

The trade union federation officials, who represent Interior Ministry employees, have insisted on the organization of a round table conference to discuss issues that they claim have been ignored in the past 20 years.

Tsachva has undertaken to do all she can in her position to achieve any necessary legislative changes.

She stated that the present government pays special attention to all those who work in the area of security, adding that these are the principal structures that have to deal with the problems of corruption and organized crime.
