Bulgarian Engineer Stands in Italian Regional Election

A Bulgarian lady is standing for election to the regional council of Lazio, Italy.

The bilateral “Bulgaria-Italy Association” has reported on its web site that Emilia Bozhinova, an engineer by profession, will be fighting for a place in the council in the election scheduled for March 28 and 29.

Bozhinova, who has worked for more than a decade on social projects in Bulgaria, has lived in Italy since 2003, where she is married to an Italian.

She is standing for the Italy of Values party, believing that this is a political force that can best assure constitutional rights and the upholding of the law in Italy.

Bozhinova has stated that, if elected, she would work and campaign for the social and cultural integration of immigrants in Italy.

She has called for the electorate in the Lazio region to vote for her, because of her willingness to apply her knowledge and experience to her work as a regional adviser, and because she is a natural optimist and believes in the future.
