Major Conflict of Interest Exposed in Bulgaria Classified Project

The audit of the now closed State Agency for IT and Communications has discovered conflict of interests in the amount of BGN 7,5 M.

The information was reported by the Transport Minister, Alexander Tsvetkov, who says public tenders worth millions have been given to businesses affiliated with the brother of the former Head of the Agency, Petar Iliev.

The results of the audit have been submitted to the Prosecutor’s Office, Tsvetkov says.

Until recently Iliev was in charge of the building of the telecom of the State Administration and of the classified facilities related to national security. The scandalous contracts have been signed with companies, all belonging to partners of Iliev’s brother – Ivan.

Iliev firmly denies al accusations.
