Bulgarian soccer coach Hristo Stoichkov has renewed his attacks on the South Africa team selector, Carlos Alberto Parreira.

Stoichkov had already strongly criticized Parreira in February, accusing him of arranging long training camps, which had committed Stoichkov’s Sundawns team players “for more than a month”.

"My players go to a one-month camp with the national team and return in worse shape. It took from me eight players and left me without a team. Indeed Parreira has won the World Cup with Brazil, but then I do not remember him summoning players like Romario and Cafu to a one-month camp," Stoichkov has again complained.

"The season for Mamelodi (Sundowners) in the local championship is over, the team managed second place. That gave them the right to participate in the African Champions League."

The National Cup is the team's next target, and Stoichkov has been forced not not to rely on eight of his best men because of their lack of fitness.

However, the coach was still full of praise for the members of his team.

"My boys put in a lot of effort this season and I'm pleased with their efforts. We lacked just a bit of luck to win the title. They worked hard and I'm glad that I was leading them this season," added Stoichkov.

Stoichkov's contract with Mamelodi expires at the end of May. He admitted that he had not yet spoken with the club owner, Patrice Motsepe, about a renewal.

Stoichkov has made clear his desire to continue coaching Mamelodi Sundowns, but also says he is not concerned about his future because he has had many other job offers.

It was announced on March 2 that the Bulgarian had been invited by a Mexican TV station to become a commentator during the South Africa World Cup.
