Bulgaria Radanova Ranks 7 in Vancouver 1 500-m Short Track

Bulgaria’s three-time Olympics medalist, Evegeniya Radanova, ranked 7th in the ladies 1 500-meter short track at the Vancouver Winter Olympics Games.

This is the best Bulgarian ranking so far.

Out of the 8 finalists, 3 were Korean. China's debutant, Yang Zhou, won the gold with an Olympic-record of 2 minutes, 16.993 seconds, while the silver and the bronze went to Korea's Eun-Byul Lee and Seung-Hi Park.

At some point during the race, Radanova was 4th, but ended 7th at the finish line. She is to receive a BGN 30 000 bonus from Bulgaria’s Sports Ministry.

The other Bulgarian, Maria Georgieva-Nikolova, was not able to make through the semi-finals and ended 17th in the final ranking.

Radanova will take part in the 1000-meter finals on February 25th.

She has a silver and a bronze medal from the 2002 Winter Olympics, and a silver medals from the 2006 Winter Olympics.
