The notorious former CEO of Bulgaria's troubled and now closed steel mill Kremikovtzi, Alexander Tomov, has suggested that busted secret agent Aleksei Petrov could testify against Ex PM Sergey Stanishev.

Tomov denied that he will be a main witness at the trial against those arrested in the ‘Octopus’ special police operation, including Petrov and Plamen and Yordan Stoyanov aka the Dambovtsi Brothers, all of whom are accused of draining money from Kremikovtzi. According to Tomov the Dambovtsi Brothers “worked efficiently and correctly” when he was the CEO of Kremikovtzi.

Tomov also suggested that Petrov could testify against former Prime Minister Stanishev; "We should be fair with Petrov, he was acting on orders from the Prime Minister. I think he can tell the truth about orders given to him that can show this policy setting that I wish to be disclosed.”

Tomov, who is also the Ex Director of CSKA Sofia football club, is indicted for document fraud and embezzlement of over EUR 5 M from CSKA and BGN 29 M from Kremikovtzi.
