Bulgaria Soft Drinks Market Shrinks 8% as Crisis Bites

Sales of soft drinks in Bulgaria plunged by 7% to 1,709 mln liters and revenues decreased by 8%, down to BGN 1,5 B on an annual basis last year, according to data of the Bulgarian Soft Drinks Association.
Consumption of bottled water, which accounts for 28% of the market, fell by 6,3%, while the sales of fruit juices decreased by 9,3% and those of carbonated drinks - by 7,5%
It is only the rising popularity of the light drinks that has managed to keep almost unchanged their sales and even record a slight increase of 1.1%.
