The annual NBA All-Star game attracted the largest basketball crowd ever of 108 000 fans, who watched the Eastern Conference's 141-139 victory over the West late Sunday in Dallas.
The new Dallas Cowboys Stadium hosted the spectacular event as the crowd watched Dallas native Chris Bosh make the winning free throws with 5 seconds left. The West had a chance to win it, but Carmelo Anthony's 3-point attempt came up short.
The Eastern squad was led by the 2003 draft class trio of Dwyane Wade (28 points), LeBron James (25 points), and Chris Bosh (23 points).
The West was helped primarily by hometown favorite Dirk Nowitzki (22 points) and Carmelo Anthony (27 points). Wade was named the game’s MVP.
