Ukraine Election Count: Yanukovich Increases Lead

With almost all votes counted in Sunday’s Presidential election, the Ukrainian Central Elections Commission has announced the gap between contenders Yanukovich and Tymoshenko has widened to 2,17%.

The leader of the Party of Regions, Viktor Yanukoovich has received 48,27%, while opponent Yulia Tymoshenko got 46,1%, with 95,42% of votes counted.

Voter turnout has been registered at 69,07%, with 4,42% of the electorate voting against both candidates.
