Borislav Mihailov, head of the Bulgarian Football Union, has described Bulgaria’s group for the Euro 2012 as “hard” while also expressing his satisfaction with the expected revenue from the matches.

As a result of Sunday’s draw in Warsaw, Bulgaria was placed in the same qualification group for Euro 2012 together with England, Switzerland, Wales, and Montenegro.

“It was important for me from a financial point of view that our opponents help us generate revenue in these economically hard times, and we got lucky because this will happen since we have England in our group. This will stimulate Bulgarian fans to fill up the stadium in Sofia. Yet, the teams are more or less of equal capabilities, and anyone can triumph in the end,” said Mihailov who was the goalie of the Bulgarian national football team during the USA 1994 World Cup when it won bronze medals.
