President Lauds Bulgaria EC-Designate for Hearing Success

Bulgaria’s President Georgi Parvanov has congratulated EC-Designate Kristalina Georgieva for her EP hearing on Wednesday, even before the Development Committee said if it would confirm her.

“I am convinced that after your approval as a member of the European Commission you will be contributing successfully for expanding EU’s role in international cooperation, humanitarian aid, and crisis response, and for better coordination of the European and international efforts in those spheres,” Parvanov declared in his address to Georgieva.

He has further stated his belief that she would be working relentlessly for the Bulgaria’s positive image as a EU member state and boosting EU’s authority on the world stage.
