The new trial against Black Sea crime boss Dimitar Zhelyazkov, aka Mityo Ochite has been postponed until February 8 after his defense lawyer was unable to attend Monday’s court hearing.

Lawyer Iliyan Vasilev had previously arranged professional engagements on Monday and therefore the trial was delayed.

A brand new suit was filed against Mityo Ochite, and members of his family in December 2009 for large-scale money laundering. His mother Stanka, his uncle Ivan, and the woman that he has been living out of wedlock Antigona have also been charged.

The charges allege that in 2000-2007 Zhelyazkov acquired property through illegal activities for which he has been sentenced. His relatives are charged with helping him to launder the money.

In 2008, Zhelyazkov was sentenced to 4,5 years in jail after confessing to the charges of heading an organized crime group involved in drug dealing.
