The ski lift on the Mechi Chal mountain top in Bulgaria’s Rhodope Mountain is running again, Darik radio informs.

The report is citing the spokesperson of the electric power supply company in the area – EVN.

The situation is under control and people, who were stranded on the ski tracks, are being safely evacuated.

A power outage earlier Saturday stranded scores of tourists and skiers, including children on the mountain top. The company “Chepelare Resort” in the town of Chepelare announced then that the emergency generator of the ski lift would not be able to sustain the transportation of all people stranded on the tracks. The Mountian rescue team began and still is transporting children with the 3 available snow trampling machines which hold only 3 people at the time.

EVN further point out the electric power is on only temporarily, until the people are moved out of the mountain, and teams will work all through the night to fix the problem.
