Scores of skiers and tourists have been stranded for hours Saturday on the Mechi Chal mountain top in Bulgaria’s Rhodope Mountain.

The reason is a power outage. The electric power supplier company in the area, EVN, has sent teams to conduct a walk around the entire perimeter of the power cable since the reason for the outage could not be immediately established.

Meanwhile, the company “Chepelare Resort” in the town of Chepelare announced the emergency generator of the ski lift would not be able to sustain the transportation of all people stranded on the tracks.

An emergency plan is in place to rescue the young children first with 3 snow trampling machines which hold only 3 people at the time.
