Bulgaria’s top tennis player, Tsvetana Pironkova, has won her first round match at the Australian Open against Galina Voskoboeva from Kazakhstan.

Pironkova cruised to a straight sets victory in 91 minutes, 6-4 6-4, against an opponent who couldn’t cope with Pironkova’s power.

Pironkova will now face Shahar Peer in the second round, after the Israeli star came from 1 set down to win – 6-7 6-3 6-1 – against Lucy Hradecka.

The game between Pironkova and Peer will be very interesting considering their 2-2 record in previous games.
