A comprehensive reorganization of traffic movements around the Lion's Bridge is to take effect from 8 pm on Monday, January 18.

The reorganization is due to the construction of the new Lion's Bridge Metro station, part of the scheduled expansion of the underground transport system.

The arrangements are expected to remain in force for almost two years, according to information released on Sunday by the Center for Urban Mobility.

Entry of vehicles in the extreme right lane of the Blvd Maria Louisa in the direction of the Central Station will be prohibited.

The ban also applies to the following:

- between the entrance to the parking lot of Serdika Ritual Hall and Kozloduy Str;

- the extreme right lane of the boulevard towards Slivnitsa Boulevard, between Kozloduy St. and Slivnitsa Blvd;

- the east lane of Maria Louisa Blvd - between the entrance to the parking lot of the Serdika Ritual Hall and United Bulgarian Bank (OBB);

- the western lane of the boulevard towards Slivnitsa Boulevard - between Kozloduy St. and Slivnitsa St.

A lane 3.50 meters wide will be provided for access by the people living and working in that area.

Throughout this period, the existing area for short-term paid parking on Kniaginia - Maria Louiza Blvd will be closed between Kozloduy and Slivnitsa streets. Public transport will continue running in that section.
