Lack of security and desperation are reported to be the major problems in Haiti after the country was hit by a 7-magnitude earthquake caused the death of tens of thousands.

A total of 30 countries have sent or have promised to send aid to Haiti; the relief teams of the USA, China, France, Iceland, and Venezuela are already on the spot.

The rescue teams have reported a surge in violence and armed people on the streets of the capital Port-au-Prince. The lack of security is hindering the badly needed relief efforts such as the distribution of food and water, and the rescue of people still buried under the rubble.
