The Sofia Court of Appeal confirmed on Tuesday the permanent detention in custody of the five men arrested in the police operation code-named "Impudent-2".

This decision seals the first decision of Sofia City Court, made on December 23. The five are thus to remain behind bars, pending further police investigation.

Brothers Dimitar and Radoslav Lebeshkovski, Kiril Kirilov, Pavel Petkov and Tsvetlozar Slavchev, are all suspected of involvement in a kidnapping criminal group.

They were arrested by the Bulgarian police on December 22 in a continuation of the special operation codenamed "The Impudent", which had been carried out on December 17, and had resulted in the arrest of 25 members of the gang believed to be responsible for over a dozen abductions in Bulgaria.
