Report Shows Bulgaria PM Borisov Is Economical Traveler

A report on the travel expenses of the center-right GERB Ministers has revealed that Bulgaria PM Boyko Borisov has been amongst the most economical travelers in his government.

This report showing the cost of trips abroad of the cabinet from when they cam into office on 27 July to December 7, provided under the requirements of the Access to Public Information act, was released Wednesday.

Up until the first week of December Borisov’s visits abroad had cost BGN 3240 with his trip to Paris to meet French President Nicolas Sarkozy costing BGN 136,91 and the travel expenses of one of his trips to Brussels costing BGN 68,45.

Foreign Affairs Minister, Rumiana Jeleva, spent the most on trips abroad – BGN 36 618, as she worked for 49 days overseas. Her most expensive visits were to Washington - BGN 9503 and New York – BGN 8931.

Sofia Mayor and former Education Minister, Yordanka Fandakova, spent the least on foreign visits – just under BGN 2500.
