Sofia Appellate Court has refused to release two of the five men deemed bosses of the high-profile kidnappers’ gang busted recently in the special operation codenamed “The Impudent”.

On December 19, the Sofia City Court imposed permanent detention on Ivaylo Evtimov, aka Yozhi; Prokopi Prokopiev, aka the Bodybuilder; Anton Petrov, aka the Hamster; Lyubomir Simeonov, aka the Rower; and Daniel Dimitrov, aka the Relay.

The Bodybuilder and the Hamster launched appeals to be released on bail but the Appellate Court rejected them on Tuesday. The ruling is final and cannot be appealed.

The other five members of the Impudent gang who were left permanently in jail on December 23 will be able to appeal their detention before the Appellate Court on January 5, 2010.
